Rain lashes most parts of North India

Rain lashed most parts of North India today bringing mercury close to normal level.

Heavy rain lashed the capital today bringing relief to the people who have been reeling under intense humidity.

Rain began around 12.30 PM and continued for over an hour. Vehicular traffic at major intersections were affected. About 17.2 mm of rainfall was recorded today.

Rain and thundershowers occurred at few places over Western and Eastern parts of UP.

Central Water Commission sources the Ganga is showing rising trend from Dalmau to Ballia.The Sharda at Palia Kalan, the Ghaghra at Elgin Bridge and the Burrhi Rapti at Kakrahi are still flowing over the red mark.

Several parts of Rajasthan witnessed rain with Chittorgarh receiving a maximum of 31 mm rainfall followed by Churu at 23 mm.
