Widespread showers lashed central Kerala providing a rain drenched beginning to the month of Chingam.The rain which began last night, continued for a few hours this morning.Two persons were trapped beneath the soil in a landslide at Pullupara near Peerumade in Idukki district this morning. Efforts are on to rescue them. Two others who sustained minor injuries have been amditted to hospital.Lanslides have also been reported near Erattupetta and Mundakkayam in Kottayam district, affecting road traffic.
