Moderate to heavy rain is reported in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh today. Many areas of capital Delhi also experienced showers today. Met office Director B.P.Yadav forecast the advancement of monsoon in various parts of the region in the next two to three days.

Agriculture expert Devendra Sharma said, this rain is very beneficial for the agriculture at this period of time while paddy transplantation is in its full swing in Punjab and Haryana.

Bringing in a welcome relief from an extended summer, heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs today. However, the rain brought along Mumbai’s chronic problems like water logging and disruption of rail and road traffic.
