The Maharashtra Government is to pay Rs 1,000 crore to farmers who lost their crops due to untimely rain. This was announced by the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in the State Assembly. He said the Government would not cut power connections of the affected defaulter farmers for the next four months.
