Rain Disrupts normal life in Karnataka

Torrential rain in several parts of Karnataka, has disrupted normal life. In Madikeri, incessant rain in Brahmagiri hills has inundated the Kaveri river. This has cut off road links in Bagamandala and Napoklu. In Bellary, persistant rain has filled the Thungabhadra dam to the brim. More than one lakh cusecs of water was released from 32 crust gates of the dam.The world heritage site Hampi which is situated on the banks of Thungabhadra river, is surrounded by water due to the release of water.Down the river, the districts of Gulbarga and Raichur are also affected as water is flowing over several important roads leading to Andhra Pradesh.AIR Correspondent adds that several parts of Davangere district too are affected due to gushing water.
