Rain disrupts life in parts of N. India

Parts of North India received moderate to heavy rainfall which disrupted normal lives.

In Himachal Pradesh, Revenue Minister Gulab Singh informed the state Assembly that at least 26 people died due to heavy rain and cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh during the current monsoon.
He said that 1,892 houses were damaged after the onset of monsoon and the loss to public and private property had been assessed at Rs 896.02 crore.
Rain also lashed parts of Haryana and Punjab .

In Chandigarh, heavy rain left roads in the city flooded triggering traffic jams at some places.

However,it was a pleasant day in the national capital Delhi as city recieved 14.4 millimetres rain in the past 24 hours. According to the Met department, the city will have generally cloudy sky with rain in some parts of the city in the next 24 hours. The temperatures would be around 32 and 25 degree celsius today.
