Rain disrupt normal life in Uttar Pradesh, Assam

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain continued to lash different parts of the state. Water level in major rivers continued their rising trend. According to the Central Water Commission, Sharda is flowing above the danger mark in Palian Kalan, while Ghaghra is flowing above danger mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki. Our correspondent reports that Ganga is rising all along its course from Kannauj, Kanpur, Dalmau, Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia.

Incessant rain has affected about 130 villages in Upper Assam. Official sources said, 55 villages are reeling under flood waters in Dhemaji district alone. Our correspondent reports that around 800 flood affected people have taken shelter at 3 relief camps set up by district administration.
