Rain showers continued in many parts of Uttar Pradesh throughout the day today. The reacitvated south-west monsoon covered the state since last evening. According to the Met department, intermittent rains have been recorded in several parts of western UP and many parts of eastern UP during the day. More rainfall may occur in many areas tonight and heavy rain is expected in some places of western UP in the next 24 hours. According to the Central Water Commission, main rivers Ganga ,Yamuna, Sharda and Ghagra are rising in different places. Sharda river in Khiri district is flowing above the danger mark and Ghaghara river in Barabanki and Ayodhay, is flowing at the warning level.
