In Arunachal Pradesh, the flood situation in the state has been worsened as heavy and continuous rain over a last few days has resulted in landslides causing disruption in surface communication. Overflowing river water has submerged new fresh areas in all most all the districts in the state. Chief minister Nabam Tuki, currently camping in the national capital called on the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and made an appeal seeking central assistance to cope with the crisis. According to a press release from CM office, Ms Sonia Gandhi told CM that a Central team would soon be dispatched to the State to take stock of the flood damages and assured to all possible assistance from the central government.
