In Uttar Pradesh, the rain has caused flooding of rivers in many areas, inundating nearby villages. The river Ganga, Sharda and Burhi Gandak are rising at several places while the river Ghaghra has become steady due to lesser rain during past two-three days. AIR Correspondent reports that the sky is cloudy in the eastern UP and intermittent rain is going on in Gorakhpur and Basti divisions.The intermittent rain is going on in several districts of Gorakhpur and Basti divisions. The river Ganga is on rising trend from Kanpur to Ballia due to heavy rain in its catchments. Burhi Gandak in Kushi Nagar district is also rising due to spate in Narayani river in Nepal. Lowlying areas in Kushinagar, Ghazipur and Badaun have been submerged in flood water. The central water commission has predicted further rise in Burhi Gandak in Kushinagar by evening. The river is already above the warning level at Khadda. More rain has also been predicted in the eastern and terai region.
