Rain and thunder showers occur across UP in last twenty four hours

In Uttar Pradesh, rain and thunder showers occurred across the state in last twenty four hours. Though Sharda River has receded in Paliankalan in khiri and Ghaghara at Elgin Bridge also receded in last twenty four hours. Both the rivers are now flowing below the danger mark in both the places. According to Met department several places in western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh had recorded light to moderate rainfall in last twenty four hours. Balia recorded 80 mm, Varanansi 40 mm, Jamnaia near Ghazipur recorded 75 mm rain while Gorakhpur recorded 56 mm rain. In western UP, rain fall was comparatively with low intensity. Anola near Bareilly recorded 75 mm rain fall in last twenty four hours.The weather expert says that south west monsoon still active and rain and thunder showers would occur in many places of eastern and western UP. According to Central Water Commission Sharda is now receding at paliankalan in khri and now flowing below the danger mark, though about 30 flood posts have been activated to keep vigil in the situation of Khri. The Ghaghara River has also receded at Elgin Bridge and reached below the danger mark there but in Ayodhya, Ghaghara is still flowing above the danger mark. Ganga is rising slowly in Kanpur, Varanasi, Allahabad and Mirzapur but is below the danger mark in all places. Yamuna is receding again in Mathura and in Agra. But Gomati is rising in Lucknow. The met unit said that some places in eastern UP may receive very heavy rainfall in next twenty four hours.
