Rain affects normal life in Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, incessant rain has affected the normal life in various parts of the state. According to reports, six people were killed in rain related incident during last 24 hours. Many link roads and some highways were blocked at various places in the state. Met department has predicted that heavy rain may occur at some places in the state including Kumaon division, Haridwar and Dehradun in next 24 hours. AIR correspondent reports, incessant rain once again hit the normal life in the state especially in remote areas of border district of Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Uttarkashi . Badrinath-Rishikesh and Haldwani-Almora national highway have been blocked in the morning due to landslide following continous rain since Thursday night at some places. According to reports pilgrims were stranded near Laambagad in Chamoli district. Meanwhile supply of essential commodities has been disrupted in far-flung areas. In Dehradun people are facing water logging problem in some parts of the city as heavy rain occurred during last 24 hours.
