Railway Ministry Ms. Mamta Banerjee says, railways will be accident free within a year as new anti collision devices are being installed. Replying questions from reporters in the Economic Editors Conference in New Delhi on Wednesday, she also announced introduction of a double storey train between Howrah and Dhanbad by next week. The train will have eight coaches with a capacity of 128 passengers in each of the bogeys. She said similar trains will be introduced, if the experiment proves successful.The railway minister asserted that the common man is the focus of her ministry and all steps are being taken to make the railway travel hassle free. Ms. Banerjee said that railways is looking into the possibility of introducing more faster trains like Duranto and expressed hope some more trains on this pattern will be in place. The minister said that possibility of introducing fastest train on the pattern of bullet trains is also being examined. She made it clear that introduction of such train is possible only with a dedicated line.
