Railways to set up five thousand more reservation terminals

The Minister of State for Railways E Ahmed says the Railways will set up 5,000 more passenger reservation terminals in the country, apart from the 7,500 terminals already established.<br/> He was addressing a function at the Ernakulam Railway junction to flag off the newly introduced Ernakulam-Madgaon Weekly Express this evening.<br/> He said the Ernakulam-Delhi Duranto Express and the Hapi-Thirunelveli Express will start services shortly.<br/> Mr Ahmed said Railways require about one lakh crore rupees to complete various projects undertaken by it. Referring to a demand for setting up a new Railway Station at Nedumbassery where the Cochin International Airport is situated, the Minister said the Railways are willing to take up the work if the airport company is ready to invest nearly 15 crore rupees.<br/> The Minister also inaugurated a computerised passenger reservation centre at Munnar in Idukki district on the occasion.
