The Indian Railways has given permission to play Carnatic and Hindustani instrumental music from the Libraries of Prasar Bharati and All India Radio, AIR in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains.

The Railways has been handed over CDs prepared and provided by AIR containing recording of classical music drawn from Akashvani Sangeet Library.

A senior Railway official said factors like the time of the day and the region the train is passing through will determine the music that will be played.
