Railways to install water purifying machines at stations

Railways have decided to install advanced water purifier machines at various stations across the country to provide passengers with clean water.

The reverse osmosis filters will be installed by a private party which will generate revenue by way of advertisements. The machines will have a dispensing capacity of 300 litres per hour. Official sources said, the facility will be monitored regularly and the private party is liable to attract penalty if the machine does not function.

The decision to install high-end water purifying machines comes in the backdrop of Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee asking all zones to spruce up passenger amenities in stations especially improving sanitation and drinking water facilities.
