<span style="color: #222222;">Railways has scrapped flexi-fare in 15 premium trains completely. It has also removed flexi-fare from 32 trains during the lean period of February, March and August. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The review of the scheme has been done based on the recommendation of the committee, Comptroller and Auditor General's report, and representations from passengers. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On September, 2016, the railways had introduced flexi-fare for premier trains like Rajdhani,  Duronto and Shatabdi Express trains.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, the reduction of Flexi Fares is going to benefit both the passengers that can now avail tickets at cheaper rates, as well the Railways that will see a surge in demand and occupancy. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In a tweet, Mr Goyal said, the maximum cap of flexi-fares has been reduced from 1.5 times to 1.4 times of the ticket fares. He said, government has completely removed the Flexi Fares from trains with less than 50 per cent occupancy.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Railways said, the changes will be implemented from the Advance Reservation Period of four months after making necessary changes in Passenger Reservation System. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This will be done on an experimental basis for 6 months and will be further extended after assessing its outcome.</span><br />''
