Revenue earnings of railways has gone up by 12.53 per cent during first five months of this fiscal. The total approximate earnings during the period were about Rs 61,325 crore compared to 54,497 crore during the same period last year.The total approximate earnings from goods during the period were about Rs 40,879 core compared to Rs 37,103 crore during April to August last year, registering an increase of 10.18 per cent. Total earnings from passengers during this period were approximately Rs 17,700 crore compared to 14,758 crore rupees, during the period last year, registering an increase of 19.94 percent. The approximate revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to around Rs 16,49 crore during the period registering an increase of 5.69 per cent.
