Railways Ministry dismisses news about changes, new facilities to be implemented from July 1

Ministry of Railways has termed news items circulating in social media that it is introducing several changes and new facilities from tomorrow as incorrect and baseless. <br/><br/>In a statement, Railways clarified that no new changes are being introduced from 1st of July. It said,the only new thing is that Railways, like other departments, is rolling out GST form Saturday. <br/><br/>It said, a section of media published the news about changes without verifying it from the authorized sources of the Railways. It was clarified that there is no change in the refund rules of Tatkal tickets and under the existing rule, no refund is granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets.<br/><br/>There is no proposal to make Aadhaar mandatory for availing train concessions. Besides, there is also no proposal for printing train ticket in regional languages and run duplicate train.<br/><br/>There is also no change in continuation of selling of waitlisted tickets through both online <br/>(e-ticket) and PRS counter. There is also no proposal to discontinue paper tickets for any class of train.
