Union railway minister Dinesh Trivedi on Friday held a meeting with Maharashtra’s MPs to review Maharashtra’s rail facilities and also to know their expectations from the upcoming budget. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan was also present for the meeting held in Mumbai. Concerned by the recent report showing that Mumbai accounted for 40 percent of train track deaths in India, Trivedi said that his ministry would soon launch an awareness drive to prevent such accidents. He added that the ministry plans to rope in master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and some prominent film personalities to spread the message of safe rail travel.
