Railways have made elaborate arrangements to clear extra rush of traffic for the festival season from this month to next month. More than 4000 trips of special trains including Durga Puja and Chhath Parv have been planned to handle the rush during this festival period . These special trains have been planned by all the Zonal Railways spread across the country over more than 35 different popular routes. Apart from this, extra coaches are also being attached to regular trains to the extent operationally feasible as per the requirement.
Out of the Puja, Chhath and other special festivals, 6 trains are unreserved, 12 are fully air-conditioned and 4 have been given superfast status. The special trains will connect cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu Tawi, Jaipur, Guwahati, Lucknow, Patna, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Puri, Indore and Secunderabad.
The Zonal Railways and the Divisional Railways have made action plans for the convenience of the passengers during this rush period. Special arrangements are being made to make regular announcements about additional coaches.
