Railways making arrangements for passengers stranded in TN, AP: Suresh Prabhu

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today said his department is making alternate arrangements for the passengers stranded at various stations in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh as the situation has worsened due to incessant rains. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Prabhu said, helpline is being set up at stations to inform the passengers about running of trains. He also said, the senior officials of Railways are stationed in the affected areas to handle the situation.<br/><br/>Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju also said, due to the incessant rain the air traffic has come to a halt in Chennai and coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. He said, Airport Authority of India is trying to chalk out a plan to dispatch essential items for the stranded passengers at airports.
