In a major boost to Government's key initiative of cashless transactions, Railways introduced the facility for booking of railway tickets from railway counters through UPI and BHIM App from today.<br/><br/>This facility will be available for booking of reserved tickets from Passenger Reservation System counters and booking of Season Tickets from Unreserved Ticketing System counters. <br/><br/>This will be in addition to the digital payment options already available to railway passengers. No additional charges will be levied from passengers making payment for a period of 3 months. <br/><br/>The facility for booking of e-tickets online on IRCTC Website has already been implemented earlier. Now, it has been extended to the tickets being booked from railway counters.
