Railway's initiative to run Oxygen Special Trains to COVID affected areas saved severals lives: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today said, Railways have transported around 43 thousand 422 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) during COVID-19 pandemic by utilizing 945 number of trains loaded with 4,294 number of tankers. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister said, as a result of the initiative taken by the Railways to run Oxygen Special Trains, LMO could be transported to the COVID affected areas in time. Mr. Vaishnaw said, due to this, a number of COVID-affected patients' lives have been saved.<br />''<br />''<br />
