Railways has registered a 7.76 per cent increase in freight revenue during April 2010-February 2011 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It earned over 56 thousand crore rupees from freight traffic during April-February as against over 52 thousand crore rupees during the corresponding period last year.Railways carried 832.75 million tonnes of commodity-wise freight traffic during this period, registering an increase of 3.64 per cent.
