The total earnings of Railways grew by 9.25 per cent during first ten days of this month as compared to the last year during the same period. According to an official release, the total earnings were over 2510 crore rupees as compared to about 2298 crore rupees during the same period last year. The total goods earnings have gone up from about 1501 crore rupees to over 1624 crore rupees during these periods, showing an increase of 8.22 per cent.However, the total passenger revenue earnings during the first ten days of this month also registered an increase of around 13 per cent to 797 crore rupees as compared to nearly 706 crore rupees during the same period last year.
