Railways have earned 47,063.59 crore rupees from freight traffic during April-October 2012 as compared to 373,92. 97 crore rupees during the corresponding period last year. This increase witnessed an increase of 25.86 per cent.

Railways carried 565.37 million tonnes of freight during April-October 2012 as compared to 536.92 million tonnes during the corresponding period last year.
