The Railways has doubled the ticket cancellation charges changing the refund rules to help genuine passengers get confirmed tickets. Under the new rules, there will be no refund after the departure of train. Now, the passenger will have to get the refund four hours before the departure. The revised refund rules will be effective from Wednesday. <br/><br/>Under the new rules, cancellation fee of second class unreserved ticket will be increased from Rs 15 to Rs 30 and second class reserved from Rs 30 to Rs 60. Cancellation charge 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train in Second sleeper has been increased from Rs 60 to Rs 120, third AC from 90 to Rs 180, 2nd AC from 100 to 200 and 1st AC from Rs 120 to Rs 240. <br/><br/> For waitlisted and RAC tickets, one has to avail the refund upto half an hour before the scheduled departure of the train and thereafter will be no refund. Now, beyond the working hours Railways have decided to enable certain UTS counter as UTS cum PRS counter and allow refund of PRS counter ticket across these counters.
