Railways has decided to implement Flexi Fare system in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains from Septmber 9. Under the scheme, the base fares will increase by 10% with every 10 percent of berths sold subject to a prescribed ceiling limit. Other supplementary charges like reservation charges, Superfast charge, Catering charges, Service tax will be levied separately. However, there will be no change in the existing fare for 1AC and Executive class of travel in these trains. There will be no Premium Tatkal Quota in these trains. <br/><br/>The present limit of berths set aside for Tatkal quota will be operated as per the existing guidelines. However, no additional Tatkal charges will be levied as the berths assigned under the quota will be booked at the rate of 1.5 times of the base fare for all classes. According to an official release, normal concession for concessional tickets will be admissible on the base fare of the ticket at each stage. Vacant berths left at the time of charting would be offered for current booking at the last price sold for that class.
