Railways convert 5,231 non air-conditioned coaches into isolation coaches as COVID Care Centres

The Railways has converted five thousand 231 non air-conditioned coaches into isolation coaches as COVID Care Centres in order to augment the bed capacities to deal with the COVID-19 situation. These COVID Care Centres can be used for very mild and mild cases of COVID-19.<br />''<br />''Railways has deployed a total 960 COVID Care coaches in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh. Out of these 960 COVID Care coaches, 503 coaches have been deployed in Delhi, 20 in Andhra Pradesh, 60 in Telangana, 372 in Uttar Pradesh and 5 in Madhya Pradesh.<br />''<br />''Railways has also deployed two liaison officers for each location of these coaches to assist State Government officials. Conversion of these coaches are part of the integrated COVID plan developed by the Health Ministry and NITI Aayog.<br />''<br />''<br />
