Railways have carried over 481million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during the first six month of current fiscal. The freight carried shows an increase of 22.21 million tonnes over the freight traffic of over 459 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year. During the last month the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Railways was around 76 million tonnes. There is an increase of 5.76 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 70.17 million tonnes carried by the Railways during the same period last year.
