Railways announces time-bound grievance redressal for employees

Railways today notified a first of its kind charter for its employees guaranteeing time-bound redressal of their grievances. The charter states that the grievances should be redressed within 30 working days of the receipt. <br/><br/>The application for casual leaves will be disposed of within one working day while for all other leaves a time period of seven days has been set.<br/><br/> Releasing the charter in New Delhi, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal said, through this charter the issues related to dues, entitlements and grievances will be addressed in a time bound manner. He said, in phase-2, a charter of Rail users will be finalized and notified in the next one month.<br/>'<br/>The Minister also announced formation of committees to look into restructuring of railway administration and suggest measures for making safety improvements in work sites. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal said, the Ministry has notified a five member committee of senior officials of Railway Board to suggest measures for making substantial improvement in worksites safety over entire Rail network. <br/><br/>The Committee among other things will come out with clear recommendations to prevent and reduce such incidents. <br/>''<br/>
