The Railways have announced ex-gratia payment for passengers injured in the train accident in Odhisa . One lakh rupees ex-gratia payment each for seriously injured passengers and ten thousand rupees each for those with minor injuries has been announced. Repairing of the railway track at the place of accident is being carried out on warfooting and train services are expected to be normal by tomorrow morning. The East Coast Railway has cancelled two express trains and diverted four passenger trains on the route. At least 27 passengers were injured in a train accident near Sikiri Railway Station, about 7 km from Titlagarh railway station in Balangir district of Odisha late last night. The accident took place when a goods train coming from opposite direction was derailed and hit the Koraput-Rourkela Express damaging 3 boggies including the engine of the passenger train. Two seriously injured have been shifted to Vishakhapatnam for further treatment, while other injured passengers are being treated at the nearby Titlagarh Hospital.
