Railway revenue earnings have gone up by 8.24 per cent during April 2010 – February 2011. An official release says, the total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 1st April 2010 – 28th February, 2011 were over 84382 crore rupees compared to 77958.06 crore rupees during the same period last financial year, registering an increase of 8.24 per cent. The total passenger revenue earnings during the first eleven months of the financial year 2010-11 were over 23600 crore rupees compared to about 21424 crore rupees during the same period last fiscal, registering an increase of 0.15 per cent.
