The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways during the period from 1st to 10th December 2011 , registered an increase of 11.29 per cent.An official release said that the earnings were over 2766 crore rupees during the period compared to more than 2485 crore rupees during the same period last year.The total goods earnings have gone up from more than 1662 crore rupees during the period 1st December -10th December 2010 to over 1885 crore rupees during 1st December-10th December 2011, showing an increase of 13.36 per cent.The total passenger revenue earnings were 774.66 crore rupees compared to 725.04 crore rupees, reflecting an increase of 6.84 per cent.
