Railway minister Mamata Banerjee today said her ministry has developed a health care infrastructure across the country to provide comprehensive health services to Railway employees. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Ms Banerjee said there is a network of 125 hospitals, 588 health units and over 150 other private hospitals for super specialty services. She said ministry of railways in collaboration with health ministry have planned to develop health care infrastructure facilities on railway land. Ms Banerjee informed the House that a high power group comprising officers from ministry of railways and ministry of health and family welfare has been set up to work out a road map for feasibility of sites selected.
