Traffic on Konkan railway route was severely affected today after a protection wall collapsed on the tracks near Nivar station in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The Konkan region is witnessing incessant rains for the past three days which has resulted in the collapse of the protection wall, built recently. Konkan Railway Corporation Limited's Public Relation Manager Baban Ghatge said, trains have been stopped at various stations and work to clear off debris from the track is on. Mumbai-bound trains were stopped at various stations in Goa while those arriving in the state were halted at Ratnagiri station due to the incident. Ghatge said, arrangement is being made to transport passengers from Ratnagiri to Goa by bus.
