<span style="color: #222222;">In a big boost to Rail Electrification in North East, Commissioner of Rail Safety has given authorisation to introduce AC electric traction to and from Guwahati railway station. Guwahati being the biggest and busiest railway station of Northeast is now literally connected with all metros and other big cities through 25KV AC traction. Total HDN (High Density Network) routes of 649 Route Kilo metres falling in Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) have been commissioned with Electric Traction. Trains like Rajdhani Express and Tejas Rajdhani Express from Northeast to run on electric traction from Guwahati to the National capital. This is yet another effort by NFR for capital connectivity by Green Transportation.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Northeast Frontier Railway has already started running trains with electric traction from the Kamakhya station with the arrival and departure of the Brahmaputra Mail with AC traction since 22nd October.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports, the Electrification work will save the foreign exchange reserves spent on High Speed Diesel Oil, and will provide greener transportation and reduced carbon footprints. There will be net saving on foreign exchange spent on HSD Oil to the tune of 300 crore rupees per annum.</span>
