In Andhra Pradesh, rail and road commuters faced severe inconvenience as several trains had been delayed for hours due to Rail Roko held in all the three regions of the state. The Rail Roko and Rasta Roko were called by both Telangana and ‘Samaikyandhra’ Joint Action Committees.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that all transport services especially trains had been affected across the state on Tuesday. The all-party Joint Action Committee called for rail Roko blocking all importanat train routes to and from the State in favour of unified state while the agitators in favour of Telangana held rail blockades in Telangana region. The agitators blocked rail tracks and roads at various places in coastal Andhra including in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram and in Kurnool and Kadapa among other towns of Rayalaseema.<br/><br/>The pro-Telangana agitators resorted to blockades at many places such as Warangal and Karimnagar. Rail passengers faced severe inconvenience as several trains had been either cancelled or rescheduled. Many trains including Long distance Express trains had been delayed for hours in all the three regions of the state as the agitators staged sit-in protests in tracks at several places. Despite making tight security arrangements, agitators thronged the railway stations at several places and blocked the tracks for many hours posing inconvenience to the passengers. Road transport had also been badly hit due to blockades erected over national highways across the state.
