In Andhra Pradesh, train services across the Telangana region were crippled due to the 12-hour long Rail Roko agitation which passed off incident-free. The dawn to dusk rail roko agitation was called by Telangana Joint Action Committee in support of separate statehood demand. Thousands of agitators of Telangana Rastra Samithi, TDP, CPI and BJP have held demonstrations on the tracks across the Telangana Region. The train services in 10 districts of Telangana region were badly hit following precautionary cancellation of several express and passenger trains posing severe inconvenience to rail commuters. Police have taken hundreds of agitators into custody while they were demonstrating on the tracks.
