Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has hailed the Rail budget as remarkable and commendable. Talking to media outside Parliament, he termed it as a forward looking budget and commended the Railways Minister Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal for having done a good job.Slamming the Opposition for noisy scenes during Mr. Bansal's speech, Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid denied the rail budget was populist, saying it was principled.Welcoming Mr. Bansal's first railway budget, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said he has walked a very fine balance, reconciling and accommodating the common man's demands and the financial health of the Railways.Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal said, the Railway Minister has given a practical, sound and forward looking Budget.
