The Prime Minister has lauded the Railway Minister, Ms. Mamta Banerjee and said that she has done a commendable job. In his reaction to the Railway Budget, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that it is common man's budget with no hike in fares. He said, said that no hike in freight freight charges will weaken inflationary pressure. The BJP has said that the budget is Railway Minister's election sop to West Bengal.
