Rail blockades cause severe inconvenience to passengers

In Andhra Pradesh, Rail passengers are facing severe inconvenience as several trains have been stopped for hours following Rail Roko call given by the Joint Action Committees, JACs, of both belonging to Telangana and United Andhra. The JACs of both sides have given Rail Roko call on Tuesday in support of separate Tealangana state and United Andhra. Several trains including long distance Express trains are being delayed for hours in all the three regions of the state as the agitators are staging sit-in protests on tracks at several places in the state. The South Central Railway has already cancelled nearly 90 train services including local services in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in view of the Rail blockade calls given by JACs. Despite the tight security arrangements, agitators thronged the railway stations at several places and blocked tracks for several hours posing inconvenience to the passengers. Several Express trains have also been rescheduled. Meanwhile, road commuters are also facing severe hardships due to blockades erected over national highways at several places. <br/>
