In Tamilnadu, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing conducted raids in Chennai, at the residences of ADGP Jaffer Sait and eight other officials including retired IAS officer K.Rajamanikam one of the secretary to former Chief Minister Mr. M.Karunanidhi. Mr.Jaffer Sait is presently posted as Special Officer Rameswaram at the Mandapam Refugee camp. Police sources said that the raid was in connection with the allotment of Tamilnadu Housing Board land allotment case. It is to be noted that Mr. Jaffer Sait was on leave during the election after the AIADMK had objected to his posting as intelligence chief and he was barred from election related work and was asked to go on leave till May 15 by the Election Commission. Mr. Sait’s latest posting at Mandapam camp came after the AIADMK government took over.
