Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has said he will put in all efforts to resolve the protracted Naga political problem. Addressing a rally in Kohima, he criticised Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for making an incapable promise of solving the Naga political issue within three months, if the NPF was voted to power in the 2003.

He said though he cannot make such promises, his heart is for trying to bring in peace and harmony back in the state. Rahul Gandhi alleged that under the NPF-led DAN government, the growth rate of Nagaland had gone down from 8.3 per cent to 3.5 per cent.
