In Bihar, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today rejected the claim of Nitish Government on development of the State. Addressing three election rallies at Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jehenabad districts he alleged that due to corruption prevailing in the functioning of the state government several welfare schemes initiated by the centre are not being implemented properly and people of the state are unable to take benefits from those schemes. Our Correspondent reports it was his first campaigning for congress candidates in the areas going for poll in 5th phase of elections. Rahul Gandhi said, Congress is only party interested in the politics of development and progress.Leaders from other major political parties including JDU, BJP, RJD, LJP and JDS also campaigned intensively in different constituencies. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JDU president Sharad Yadav addressed several election rallies at Patna, Gaya, Nawada and Jehenabad districts. Both the leaders targeted RJD and Congress for avoiding welfare of the state. Leader of the main opposition RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav addressed public meetings at different constituencies from Patna and Bhojpur while his ally LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan attended election rallies at Nalanda district. Both the leaders rejected claims for development of the state under Nitish regime. Several BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Shahnawaj Husain are also campaigning for ruling alliance candidates.
