Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has rejected personality oriented rule saying it is not in the interest of the country. Without naming BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, he said, the country should not be governed by the thinking of a particular person or his ways.
In an interview to a Hindi daily, he said, the future of 120 crore people can be shaped up and improved only by taking everybody along. Rahul Gandhi said, Congress is a democratic organization and the people will decide through their elected representative who will be the Prime Minister of the country.
Amid speculations that he would be declared as congress party's Prime Ministerial candidate in the 2014 General Elections, Rahul Gandhi said that he is ready to take any responsibility given by the party. He would do whatever the party decides him to do. He hoped that the Congress party will do well in the upcoming general elections and his party's return to power will hold good for the country.
On Priyanka Gandhi's role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Congress Vice President said Priyanka is an active member of Congress party. She is campaigning to strengthen the organisation but there will not be any election related role for her.
Asked about learning from the Aam Aadmi Party, Rahul Gandhi said that he does not agree with some of their policies and added that his party's decisions are pro-people for the longer term. Gandhi said, for the first time party has placed its manifesto before the people to seek their views and suggestions.
On asking the youth to join politics, Rahul Gandhi said it was this dream of his that he joined politics. He added the party wants to provide a platform for the youth to hone their skills. Rahul also categorically dismissed reports that Congress is fast losing its allies.
The Congress Vice President criticised the BJP for its Congress free India pitch. He alleged that BJP does not understand that Congress is in the DNA of the country and it is the only political power which has kept people of this nation united.
Gandhi called for opening up the education system for 120 crore Indians saying the present system is not sufficient to cater to the needs of the people.
