The Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today visited Banda and Kanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh and met victim girls related to two sexual assault cases. Meanwhile the opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh has severely curtsied Mayawati Government for deteriorating law and order situation in the state.The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly today also witnessed noisy scenes when Opposition members alleged that UP government was responsible for poor law and order situation and recent rape cases. The noisy scenes disrupted its proceedings several times following which the Chairman adjourned the House till tomorrow.In Kanpur Rahul Gandhi visited to the hospital where he met the Dalit girl of Fatehpur who was seriously injured and disfigured while resisted attempt of gang rape by three men at her village in Fatehpur district on Saturday. The minor Dalit girl is being treated at a Kanpur Hospital .He talked with the girl family and took details of the incident. In this case The UP police has arrested the main accused. Uttar Pradesh State Congress president Rita Bahuguna Josh was also with him. However huge crowed of youth congress workers were manhandled by the police near the hospital.Earlier today ,he met Banda rape victim girl and her family members at shahbajpur village in Banda district . shri Gandhi reached victim’s home and met her. The family members of victim also expressed their fear about security and requested him for adequate arrangement of security for their family. All four accused including MLA Purshottam Naresh Diwedi were presented before the Banda district court in Banda rape case the court has extended thier judicial custody till 15 th febuary .the court has also taken the issue of identification (shinakht ) of three acused except the MLA, but the judgment on this matter is reserved by the court today. Meanwhile the state police spokesperson told AIR Allahaabd correspondent that in Fathehpur incident two accused have been arrested so far.
