Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra Begins in Nagaland, Pays Homage at Kohima War Cemetery

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi kick started the Nagaland leg from Viswema village under Kohima district today.<br />''<br />''Traversing through Kohima town, Mr. Gandhi also visited Kohima War Cemetery. He laid a wreath and paid homage to the soldiers who died in the line of duty in Nagaland during World War II. <br />''<br />''Delivering his short public address, at the High school Junction Kohima, Mr. Gandhi said Northeast is a very important part of the idea of India and keeping in mind of its importance they have decided to start this yatra from Northeast region. Mr. Gandhi said it was an honour for him to come to the state and interact with the people of the state. He thanked the public for his experience.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, addressing media persons at Chiephobozou town in the afternoon, Mr. Gandhi termed the last year's Bharat Jodo Yatra as an impactful and successful yatra, adding that it had bring the people together and transformed the political narrative. He added that the yatra provided alternative narrative to the divisive narrative of the BJP.  He said similar yatra was decided from East to West which was started from Manipur keeping in mind of the tragedy that has taken place with loss of lives, properties and violence.<br />''<br />''Mr Gandhi said, the idea behind the yatra is to fight for justice. He said, Nagaland itself has been given a commitment by the Prime Minister nine years ago which has been not completed, and that is something that many people in Nagaland have mentioned.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Yatra in Nagaland will continue till tomorrow covering Tseminyu, Wokha, and Mokokchung district.</span><br />
