Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi today visited the Balakote sector along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and interacted with the victims of recent Pakistani shelling there. Later speaking to media persons, Mr. Gandhi stressed that there should be a special insurance policy for the people living in border areas. <br/><br/>He also demanded from the centre that people affected by Pakistani shelling should be given appropriate compensation for the loss of lives and property. On fifteenth of this month, six civilians were killed while twenty others were injured in this sector in Pakistani shelling. <br/><br/>Beginning his three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Gandhi had reached Jammu this morning. According to party sources, Rahul is also scheduled to visit Kashmir and Ladakh regions during the three-day visit.
